(670 The Score) The White Sox on Friday outrighted reliever Juan Minaya to Triple-A Charlotte after he cleared waivers earlier in the week.
Minaya, 28, posted a 3.28 ERA and 1.46 WHIP in 52 appearances out of the White Sox bullpen in 2018. He has a 3.93 ERA in three MLB seasons, all of which have been spent with Chicago.
Minaya's removal from the 40-man roster opens up one spot, which could perhaps be filled by right-hander Ervin Santana, who was signed to a minor league deal and is competing for the fifth slot in the rotation.
