(670 The Score) The White Sox have placed shortstop Tim Anderson on the paternity list, they announced Wednesday. Anderson and his wife, Bria, welcomed their second child, daughter Paxton, on Monday.
Anderson will miss the team's game at Cleveland in the afternoon. He's eligible to return as soon as Thursday, when the White Sox are set to host the Mariners in their home opener, weather permitting. Players can remain on paternity leave from one to three days.
Anderson is 4-of-12 with an RBI in three games this season.
Additionally, the White Sox recalled right-hander Jose Ruiz from Triple-A Charlotte. He had a 3.07 ERA in 43 relief appearances split between Class-A and Double-A in 2018. He also made six appearances for the White Sox late last season.
