Can Boban Marjanovic possibly get any more likable? He's already the gentle giant of the NBA, with rave reviews from everyone that's ever met him — teammates, coaches and fans alike — and an infectious personality that has captured the hearts of the collective basketball community.
Now he's hitting threes, too?

Apparently that's the case, seeing as the 7-foot-4 big man hit not one but two long-range bombs in the Mavericks' preseason game on Wednesday night... in back-to-back possessions.
This just isn't something that 7-foot-4 human beings should be able to do, but Marjanovic is evidently a special talent out there on the hardwood. It's not as if he hasn't hit any three-pointers before — in regular season action, he's 9-35 from beyond the arc — but it's not what you typically see from him or anyone of that size. Then again, fans who have seen Manute Bol's randomly torrid first half know that it's certainly possible for the (really) big men of the league to let it fly from deep with success.
Marjanovic hasn't quite done that yet, though he did hit multiple threes in the same game for the Sixers back in 2019, going 2-3 as part of an 18-point effort in the final regular season contest the team had.

And now that I'm on this topic of big big men hitting three-pointers, let's take a look at the list of the top ten 7-foot-2 (or more) players in terms of their three-point success (via Stathead):
With only nine, Boban cracks the top ten, so you can see just how rare a breed it is. Based on what we saw on Wednesday night, it looks like he'll add to his total this season and climb up this list.
