Martin Fehervary's season is over, as the Capitals announced Tuesday morning that the defenseman will miss the remainder of the playoffs after undergoing knee surgery Monday.

Per the team, Fehervary suffered a meniscus injury to his right knee in the Caps' win over the Islanders at UBS Arena last Tuesday, and 'underwent a successful surgical procedure' on Monday to repair it, which will cost him the remainder of the Caps' season.

"It's a massive loss for our team. Really feel for him. My heart hurts for him, because he's an unsung hero for our team," head coach Spencer Carbery said Tuesday.
