After Ted Leonsis joined the governor of Virginia on stage and announced his intention to take the Washington Capitals and Wizards out of Washington D.C. for the Potomac Yard area of Alexandria in the Commonwealth this week there were lots of questions.
And since Leonsis did not answer questions from the media there haven't been that many answers. Well, that's where the President of Business Operations and Chief Commercial Officer at Monumental Sports & Entertainment, Jim Van Stone, enters.
First, Van Stone joined the Chris Russell Show (listen on the audio player above) and answered a bunch of questions from Chris Russell about Monumental's current state in D.C. and the planned move and what that means for Capital One Arena and the new venue to be built in Virginia.
Then he joined the Craig Hoffman Show for a different interview in which Van Stone addresses why Leonsis and Monumental made this decision to take the Caps and Wiz to Alexandria, reimagining Gallery Place, the metro and transportation issues that could loom in building a new arena at Potomac Yard and much more. Listen to that conversation below.
