"So if you're sitting there and you're Washington, and you have Kliff Kingsbury, and [Caleb Williams] is from the area, and he has a great relationship with Kliff already, and his putting on Instagram 'my dog.' I mean, come on, don't overthink some things here," ESPN NFL analyst Lance Reddick said. "... the right conclusion for Washington is, do what you gotta do to get this guy on your football team."
Riddick suggests the Commanders should "move heaven and earth" to trade up with the Chicago Bears in the 2024 NFL Draft from No. 2 to the No. 1 pick to select the quarterback out of USC, where Washington's new offensive coordinator served on the coaching staff last season.
On the Hoffman Show, Lynnell Willingham (in for Craig Hoffman) echoes Riddick's sentiment, while also emphasizing trust in general manager Adam Peters and the Commanders' front office decision-making structure if they choose to go a different direction.
