The Raiders have set down roots in Vegas and, apparently, so has their owner, Mark Davis, who is in the process of building a 15,000-square-foot house in nearby Henderson. According to site plans obtained by Eli Segall of the Las Vegas Journal-Review, Davis’ three-story, “ultra-luxury” home will include a pool, library, state-of-the-art prep kitchen, steam room, bar, man cave and an area reserved for guest and vendor parking, among other amenities. Plotted on six glorious acres along the McCullough mountain range in suburban Las Vegas, Davis’ palatial $14-million residence will feature “heavy symmetry” with floor-to-ceiling windows and a mammoth 5,422-square-foot garage, all while adhering to the Raiders’ iconic silver and black color scheme.
Per Segall, construction crews have already broken ground on the ambitious undertaking (Davis admitted he has “no idea” how long it will take to build) mirroring the “futuristic” aesthetic seen at both the Raiders’ practice facility and their new home field, 65,000-seat Allegiant Stadium overlooking the Las Vegas Strip. Local architect Bob Fielden, who is not involved with the project, said Davis envisions his future home as an extension of the Raiders’ brand. “They’re a perfect trio,” said Fielden, who regards Davis’ prestigious Ascaya neighborhood in Henderson as a “one percenters’ paradise.” “They all have the same character.”

While many on social media have rightfully marveled at the sheer magnitude of Davis’ proposed mansion, others have dismissed it as an eyesore and an architectural monstrosity.
As Jordan Belfort (played by Leonardo DiCaprio) famously quipped in The Wolf of Wall Street, “When you sail on a boat fit for a Bond villain, sometimes you need to play the part.” Davis’ tastes and sensibilities as a decorator might not be for everyone, but his new digs, when completed, will certainly be fit for a Bond villain.
