Dave Martinez certainly got his money’s worth with a tirade for the ages after he was ejected from Thursday’s game against the Diamondbacks.

Martinez had been frustrated with a low strikeout call on CJ Abrams in the bottom of the fourth on a pitch that looked to be well below the strike zone, so when Washington didn’t get a similar strike call in the next inning, Martinez let home plate umpire Doug Eddings know about it.

Martinez was jawing from the dugout, then came out to give Eddings a piece of his mind. He continued to have words as he walked back to the dugout, and was ejected before he could make it back. So, he stormed back to home plate, dusted it off with his foot, and laid down on his stomach behind home plate, exaggerating where the catcher caught the strike call that Abrams took the inning before.

MLB Twitter seemed to love every second of the animated tirade, the latest comical expression of frustration from Martinez, who recently brought a photo to a postgame press conference to confirm a missed call.
