The Nets are keeping it in house with their new head coach.

Brooklyn has named interim head coach Jacque Vaughn as Steve Nash’s replacement, ending speculation that the team would hire suspended Celtics head coach Ime Udoka after parting ways with Nash following a 2-5 start to the season.

Vaughn was named acting coach on Nov. 1 after spending the past seven season with the organization as an assistant coach.

Udoka was reportedly seen as a front runner to land the job despite being suspended for the entire season by Boston due to improper conduct with a female employee, but other reports indicated that Nets owner Joe Tsai was being pushed away from Udoka and the controversy it would bring. In the end, Brooklyn didn’t look far for Nash’s replacement.
