Alex Trebek lost his battle with pancreatic cancer on Sunday at the age of 80, sending many Jeopardy! fans into mourning.

Jeopardy! would occasionally intertwine with the world of sports, particularly when a sports category would surface on the show, often stumping the limited sports knowledge of the contestants.

Among the tributes of Trebek to surface on Sunday included one from NFL Films, which in 2018 did a segment with Trebek after the category “Talkin’ Football” left all the contestants stumped and failing to buzz in – a moment Trebek ranks as one of his more memorable of the show.

The seven-minute and 15-second segment also included Trebek discussing previous football stars who came on the show, such as Shannon Sharpe and Aaron Rodgers. Check it out in full yourselves:

Rodgers was among several athletes to share a tribute to Trebek following the news.

NFL Network’s Rich Eisen also gave a heartfelt tribute to Trebek on his show Sunday morning with the NFL on FOX pregame show and other sports media figures also joining in with tributes.

Trebek was also a native of Ottawa and a hockey fan at heart. Just last month, he made an unexpected cameo at the NHL Draft to announce the Senators draft pick. Coincidentally enough, the Senators Twitter account’s last tweet was from Friday celebrating the one-month anniversary of that very moment.

The Senators later shared a social media post honoring Trebek while the NHL also posted Trebek onto their Instagram page.
