Several notable athletes and other prominent figures in the sports sphere reacted to Joe Biden's projected victory over President Trump in the presidential election.
Trump, who reportedly hit the golf course on Saturday morning while awaiting the results, has had several high-profile brushes with athletes since officially arriving on the political scene in 2015.
Among those to respond were NBA stars LeBron James, Joel Embiid, Tobias Harris, CJ McCollum and Kyle Lowry.
James, who once referred to Trump as a "bum" on social media amid a 2017 feud, particularly seemed to revel in the 45th president's apparent ouster. The four-time NBA champion teamed up with Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes on a voter turnout initiative, More Than a Vote.
One tweet among the several posted by James was a humorous take on his celebrated chase-down block of an attempted layup by Golden State's Andre Iguodala in the 2016 NBA Finals.
Embiid resurfaced a popular tweet of his from 2016 in which he riffed on former GM Sam Hinkie's infamous "process" line.
Warriors star Draymond Green referenced James' feud with Trump over whether Golden State would visit the White House to mark their 2016-2017 NBA title.
Several members of the US women's soccer team weighed in.
Others let the memes do the talking.
Some expressed relief and called for a purging of "bad energy."
Houston Texans wide receiver Kenny Stills, arrested earlier this year at a protest for Breonna Taylor outside the home of Kentucky Attorney General Daniel Cameron, retweeted a viral post saying additional work remained for those seeking justice.
Pelicans guard Josh Hart took a more incendiary route.
