The wait continues for Steph Curry to make his return to the court, but it appears he’s continuing to make strides in his injury rehab.
Curry hasn’t played since partially dislocating his shoulder Dec. 14 against the Pacers. Ten days later it was announced the Golden State Warriors star would miss at least two more weeks, with Curry telling ESPN he hoped to return “as close to that two weeks as possible.”
That would put him on track for a return around Jan. 7, and Steve Kerr said Thursday in his weekly appearance on “Damon and Ratto” that Curry continues to make good progress.
"He’s been doing a lot of stuff on the court,” Kerr said. “He’s getting a lot of good work in, he’s really coming along well. Everything is progressing.”
The Warriors went 1-3 in their first four games without Curry, but since have ripped off three straight victories heading into Friday’s game against the Portland Trail Blazers.
It has been tough sledding for the reigning NBA champs, who sit in 10th in the conference with an 18-18 record. Getting Curry – who has missed 10 games this season – back early on in January should only help get Golden State back on track.
