Skip Bayless has stepped in it once again, this time drawing the ire of Jenny Taft. Bayless, who was rightfully raked over the coals for dismissing Dak Prescott’s mental health struggles following his brother’s suicide last year, delivered another scorching-hot Cowboys take Wednesday, body-shaming coach Mike McCarthy following his appearance on Tuesday night's season premiere of Hard Knocks on HBO.

“Maybe his motivational speech wasn’t the most inspiring but criticizing his appearance? I don’t know if I think that’s a fair shot at Mike McCarthy, I’m just going to leave it at that,” offered Taft, who hosts Skip and Shannon: Undisputed, airing weekdays at 9:30 AM on FS1.

Unamused, Bayless rebuked Taft for challenging his opinion. “Jenny, I appreciate that,” said Bayless dryly. “I don’t think that’s a fair shot.”

“Is everyone who’s a good coach as fit as you, Skip? I don’t think that’s a fair shot whatsoever,” Taft argued. After her response was met by eye rolls (eager to change the subject, Bayless also muttered an exasperated “next”), Taft lit into the popular Fox personality, refusing to change the subject.

“I have an opinion, Skip. I am allowed to say whatever I want to say on this show, as you do too.”

The clip quickly went viral with Taft receiving widespread praise for standing up to Bayless, who came off as both a bully and a sore loser during the exchange.

What McCarthy’s physique has to do with his coaching ability is anyone’s guess, though for whatever reason, Bayless, a known fitness fanatic, felt it was worth mentioning. For his part, Shannon Sharpe (who weathered his own on-air controversy not too long ago) appeared to take absolute delight in the feisty dialogue between his Undisputed colleagues, grinning while Taft put Skip in his place.

As noted by Awful Announcing, Bayless did not acknowledge his comments on McCarthy or his on-air spat with Taft during Thursday’s show.
