The Commanders are a win or tie, or a Bucs loss or tie, away from clinching a playoff berth, and their destination is yet unknown, but Lynnell is on record saying he doesn’t give the team much of a chance in the Wild Card Round, although if Jayden Daniels can keep the team in it no matter who they play.
So what say you, Charles Davis, having called a couple Commanders games this year?
“The idea that they can’t win a first-round game is folly; they absolutely can,” Davis told Lynnell. “Look, just like boxing, where styles make the fight, who is your draw? Who and where you’re playing will come into play, but seeing it up close, they can play different styles if they need to.”
Call the Commanders the Chameleons?
“Don't think for a second that if they need to hand it to Brian Robinson and play, they can't – they can!” Davis said. “And opportunistic on defense – you get a couple of takeaways in the playoffs, somebody gets sent home. So this isn’t me being a cockeyed optimist. I've seen Washington up close, they can win a first-round playoff game. Obviously, it depends on who you draw, but the idea that they can't? No, I'll fight you on that one.”
