NFL teams favored by more than seven points went undefeated (8-0) in the first three weeks of the 2019 season.

They also went undefeated in 2020 (8-0), 2021 (5-0), and 2022 (12-0). And they were undefeated (5-0) entering last Sunday’s Week 3 games.

Those teams favored by at least 7.5 points entered the 1 p.m. ET games on a 38-game moneyline winning streak in Weeks 1-3. Over the next six and half hours, three big favorites lost:

Jaguars (-7.5) at Texans

Ravens (-7.5) vs. Colts

Cowboys (-11.5) at Cardinals

It was just the fourth time in the last 20 years that three teams favored by more than seven points lost in the same week — and the first time since Week 17 of the 2018 season.

There are three more big favorites in BetMGM’s Week 4 NFL odds — and a fourth 7-point favorite, the Dallas Cowboys against the New England Patriots — among them the Washington Commanders-Philadelphia Eagles game at 1 p.m. ET on Sunday:

Eagles (-8.5) vs. Commanders

49ers (-14) vs. Cardinals

Chiefs (-9.5) at Jets

The Eagles are on a two-game winning streak when favored by at least 7.5 points and have won eight of their last nine games in that spot dating back to December 2019.

The Commanders, meanwhile, are on a two-game winning streak as an underdog of at least 7.5 points. They’ve won three of their last five games in that spot after a six-game losing streak.
