The trade rumors around Montez Sweat and Chase Young continue to swirl. The former first-round picks for the Washington Commanders addressed those rumors while saying they are focused on the Week 8 game against the Philadelphia Eagles.
"I mean, s---, with everything going on, it definitely goes across your mind," Sweat said on if he thinks about the deadline, via The Washington Post's Nicki Jhabvala. "But you try to keep your head focused on what's ahead, and that's Philly. So, yeah, I'm focused on that right now."
When asked if he wanted to stay in Washington, he said, "I mean, I can only control what I can control. I definitely enjoyed my time here with the guys on the D-line, the people on the team. But I understand it's a business. So, I can only control what I can."
Young said he "don't think about it at all. Just focused on the Eagles.”
When asked if he spoke to anybody with Washington about the deadline, the former No. 2 overall pick said, “You know, my name has been popping up since I’ve been here, regardless of a trade. I ain’t trippin about none of that.”
Sweat said he also has not had any "type of conversations with nobody" as far as coaches and the front office goes and he is "here to go to work and get the job done."
Sweat, who many see as the more likely of the pair to be dealt, said he keeps tabs on a potential move with his agency.
"They tell me what's going on and what's not going on and stuff," he said. "They try to keep me ahead of the curve, but other than that, we focused on Philly."
