Some contract news on the Commanders front Wednesday: the team has restructured Deebo Samuel’s deal for 2025, guaranteeing him $17 million with the chance to make up to $3 million more in incentives.
Samuel is entering the final season of a three-year, $71.55 million extension he signed with the 49ers in 2022, but that deal did not have his base salary of $16.6 million for 2025 guaranteed. Now, he has a slight raise from that number guaranteed, with the $3 million in incentives replacing $750,000 in per-game roster bonuses on his old deal.
The Commanders acquired Samuel for a fifth-round pick when the league year opened last week.
