Washington Commanders team president Jason Wright has overseen a lot of change during his time working for Dan Snyder and now the Josh Harris-led ownership group. One thing that might change again is the name, but Wright told 106.7 The Fan on Wednesday that the name will not change back to Redskins: "It is not being considered... Period."

Craig Hoffman's reaction to Wright saying that: "Thank you. That just wasn't that hard." (Listen to the segment on the audio player below beginning at the 11:09 mark.)

"I'm glad that Jason did not give a long, winding, convoluted answer that said, 'no, it's not coming back, but this and that and this and that.' No, it's not coming back, everyone stop bitching about it," Hoffman said.

Hoffman reiteriates that the old nickname holding a special place for so many people because it reminds them of fond memories of the football team and their family and growing up rooting for that team, is not what people are mad about. "But if you wanna go back to that [old name] while having the information that a lot of Native Americans see that word not only as offensive but as a slur," Hoffman said, "then that is on you. If you don't care about that, then that does reflect as a selfishness that is undeniable.

"I don't care about your memories, I care about the people that the nickname is about. They get to decide and while there is not unanimity amongst them, and there recently have been some clown groups of people who have co-opted a Native American identity to try and push a narrative that is completely untrue, and have then exposed themselves by trying to wrap themselves in other culture wars because it's really not about the nickname it's about other stuff for them. And they don't care who they hurt, they just are grifters who want attention. If that's who you follow, think about what that means. 'I am the person who follows the grifter,' says a lot about you, not just the grifter.

"So don't do that, you have a choice. You are an intelligent human being. Use your intelligence."

And Hoffman was just getting started with this take, listen to the full segment on the audio player above.
