The Washington Commanders are in their second week of OTAs and there have been some big changes on the offense with the addition of Eric Bieniemy as offensive coordinator and the battle at quarterback between Sam Howell and veteran Jacoby Brissett.
Wide receiver Curtis Samuel spoke after practice on Wednesday about how the Washington WR corps is capable of meeting the challenge of executing Bieniemy's offense: "We do a lot. And I feel like we go the guys in the room, we got the guys in this team to learn, pick things up, and build on the offense."
"Them play calls be long," Samuel added. "You have to put in the time, I ain't gonna lie we spending some time. But I put in the time outside of [the facility], you know, it's just fun."
Craig Hoffman, who was at OTA practice on Wednesday, got the chance to watch the Commanders work, but also to speak to defensive end KJ Henry, Washington's fifth-round draft pick out of Clemson.
"Just trying to get better every day," Henry said. "Now it's just getting to work... be an addition, be a positive light in, obviously, a great [defensive line] room already. Just trying to grow, obviously, I have a lot to learn. Just trying to be a sponge from, like I said, some of the best in the league."
