"I was gonna start the show by explaining why I did not think that this game, despite my initial observations watching it, was nearly as much on Eric Bieniemy and there was a clear No. 1 person at fault for the loss [Sunday]," Criag Hoffman oped The Hoffman Show after the Commanders 14-7 defeat to the New York Giants in Week 7. "And I regret to inform everybody that that person is Sam Howell."
In the loss, Howell completed 22 of 42 passes (52.4 percent) for 249 yards (5.9 yards per attempt) with no touchdowns and an interception for a 60.5 passer rating and 20.6 QBR. The second-year quarterback was also sacked six more times for a loss of 52 yards.
"The reality is he stunk... he was really, really bad," Hoffman said, and that includes mental mistakes and physically missing throws.
That is Hoffman's first observation of his ten. Listen to the full list and conversation on Washington's loss and evaluation of Howell's performance and much more on the audio player above.
