Before the Washington Commanders hired Dan Quinn to be the next head coach, they were on their way to Detroit to interview the Lions offensive coordinator Ben Johnson. But, while Josh Harris and Adam Peters and co. were en route, Johnson told the Washington search group that he was pulling his name out of consideration for the job and would be staying with the Lions.

So what exactly happened with that?

ESPN's Dan Graziano joined Craig Hoffman from Radio Row in Las Vegas at Super Bowl LVIII to provide insight on how Johnson – the perceived "favorite" and 'lock' for the Commanders' HC job – opted out of even taking the in-person interview with the team.

Did Johnson not blow the Commanders away in their first interview and that's why Washington soured? Did Johnson not want the job once he was no longer the favorite? What happened?

The conversation, however, starts with Brian Johnson, the former Philadelphia Eagles offensive coordinator, who was hired by Quinn in Washington to join Kliff Kingsbury's staff, who Graziano calls "a pretty good get."

For more information on the Johnson who said no and the Johnson who said yes, listen to the full conversation from the Hoffman Show on the audio player above.
