According to reports, Jeff Bezos is not going to make a bid to purchase the Commanders from Dan Snyder.
Per ESPN’s John Keim, Bezos is out of the running, clearing the way for Josh Harris’s hopeful ownership group, which includes NBA legend Magic Johnson, to secure the winning bid, reportedly around $6 billion.
Bezos’ potential involvement seemingly brought uncertainty around the eventual sale of the team, but with the billionaire reportedly out of the running, a sale could be made in the near future, with Mark Maske of the Washington Post reporting that “hopes are growing” of an agreement being reached “in the coming weeks.”
Canadian billionaire Steve Apostolopoulos also reportedly has a bid in for the team, likely representing the strongest competition for the Harris-led ownership group.
