The Denver Broncos will take a record hit to the salary cap to get rid of veteran quarterback Russell Wilson: $85 million. With that the 35-year-old QB, who completed 297 of 447 attempts (66.4 percent) for 3,070 yards (6.9 yards per attempt) and 26 touchdowns and eight interceptions while going 7-8 in his 15 games as a starter, could be an interesting move if he comes in at the right price for his new team.
J.I. Halsell, an NFL Salary Cap analyst, joined Craig Hoffman to discuss the Broncos' significant dead cap hit after releasing Wilson and what the quarterback's market might look like and at what price.
Next, Halsell and Craig Hoffman transition to the Washington Commanders' recent cuts of tackle Charles Leno, center Nick Gates, and tight end Logan Thomas, and predictions for Washington's moves in the upcoming legal tampering period as NFL free agency gets going next week.
