The Commanders hit a new low on the season with a loss to the Giants on Sunday, and Jonathan Allen joined the Junkies Monday as always, presented exclusively by our partners at MainStreet Bank — Cheer Local. Bank Local. Put Our Team in Your Office. – to explain the mindset of the team as hopes of the playoffs have seemingly slipped away.

An honest Allen said that some players may phone it in with the postseason almost out of reach, but he made sure to tell the team on Sunday that there is still plenty to play for.

“Some guys might pack it in. It’s a fact. We’re all human,” Allen said. “But even though the chances of making the playoffs are slim, we still have the. Crazier things have happened in the NFL. But we’re playing for our pride and playing for our jobs…the record we have is not gonna change my approach.

“I think guys really have to determine what they’re playing for. But again, we’re not eliminated from the playoffs.”

Allen also touched on the performance of Sam Howell, the Commanders secondary, and what happened to the run defense in the fourth quarter. Take a listen to Allen’s entire segment, sponsored by MainStreet Bank, via the clip above.
