Fred Smoot told the Junkies Monday morning that Dan Snyder was “the guy that made my dreams come true and called me on draft night,” so he has no ill will towards the outgoing owner – but as he also told the guys, he understands why Snyder’s tenure with the Commanders was “destined to fail.”

That said, on Thursday, even Smoot knew that the energy in the District was palpable as that era came to an end.

"I felt electricity that I hadn't felt since my rookie year. I felt the fan base electrified and really into it - it was just a different energy, period," Smoot said. "I've never seen a city react to someone leaving like that. There's something in the air in DC right now."

Take a listen to Smoot’s entire call-in to the Junkies from Monday that has a lot of discussion of the Snyder era and a look ahead to the new era under Josh Harris and company!
