JUNKIES: How much can we really take stock in mock drafts and rumors?

The Junks updated their QB big boards on Tuesday, even as we still have 16 days to see who the Commanders actually take at No. 2, and we know that there's a ton of teams that are thirsty for quarterbacks.

One of which is the Pats, who "Onioned" Cakes with a picture that made it look like they gave Tom Brady's No. 12 to ex-Commander Antonio Gibson and also seem to be in love with a different Michigan QB?

"You figure Caleb goes one, either Daniels or Maye goes two most likely to the Commanders, and then maybe they bypass whoever's left over and go with McCarthy," Cakes said.

"They seem in a lot of mocks to be a team that is going to trade down," JP replied, "and the Vikings apparently really love Drake Maye. I saw their quarterbacks coach, Josh McCown, coached Drake Maye in high school, and they have Sam Darnold atop their depth chart and two first-round picks to try to move up to get him."

"So the conventional wisdom in this room, and I am not on this, is the Commanders are gonna select Jayden Daniels at two?" EB asked. "Gun to your head, right now?"

Cakes, who had McCarthy at No. 2 yesterday, indeed flip-flopped, saying "I don't know if I fully believe in my heart of hearts all of the JJ McCarthy hype," and Bish thinks it could still be JJ based on the odds…or not?

"Adam Rank from NFL.com did a mock draft yesterday, and he's got JD going two, Marvin Harrison three – zero chance that's happening," Bish said, "and he's got the Vikings at 11 taking McCarthy and the Broncos taking Maye. No chance he slips."

"You mentioned at three that there's no chance that the Patriots would select Marvin Harrison Jr., and here's my push back: they've had such bad production from the wideout spot the last few years, that maybe they've targeted a different quarterback, and they realize we're not going to get a wide out like Marvin Harrison Jr. every few years, and he's that special that we have to take him there and then we'll deal with the quarterback next," Cakes said. "This is not a one-year fix for the Patriots. Kind of like the Commanders, you're not gonna plug all the holes in one year, so maybe they say Harrison is better than all these quarterback prospects, and we're gonna take him and either wait to get a quarterback next year or go in the second round."

Bish doesn't see it, though, because why would they punt a year, not knowing what is out there or where they'll be, and roll with Jacoby Brissett for now – and perhaps, Cakes thinks, there's a better chance the Commanders trade out if the Vikings really love Maye?

"They've got 11 and 23, and if I'm Adam Peters and I'm not fully sold on picking my quarterback at two, I'm certainly going to listen to the Vikings if they're going to offer me two first round picks and potentially more to move up to my spot," Cakes said. "I'll drop down to 11 if the offer is good enough. You'd have to blow them away, and maybe the Vikings will if they're desperate enough and love Drake Maye."
