The Junkies think the tight end room might be the surprise standout for Commanders
We’re just one preseason game into the Commanders’ season, but we saw some good and some bad in that August opener – and enough of the former for the Junkies to wonder if the Commanders as a whole could surprise some people this year.
And within that, there is some individual talent on the team the Junks think could surprise folks as well.
“Ben Sinnott impressed – three catches for 57 yards, and he was physical,” JP said. “They’ve needed a tight end; Logan Thomas played well when he was healthy, but this could be a big-time upgrade and huge for a young quarterback.”
“Zach Ertz has looked good by all accounts in camp, looks healthy, and maybe you're gonna get a little fountain of youth from Ertz,” EB replied. “I think the tight ends are good. Sinnott, I think if given an opportunity, I'm convinced he could play.”
“When you draft a tight end who's not really from a passing factory offense, because Kansas State wasn't like that, and you draft him in the second round, you really like him, right?” was Bish’s take.
Take a listen above as the guys go through all of their impressions from the preseason opener!
