EB believes Sam Howell, whether he realized it or not, was potentially playing for his job on Sunday against the Eagles.
“Sam Howell is just too naïve to understand his career as a starter in this league was literally hanging in the balance,” EB said. “If he had another disastrous game back-to-back, people would move on way quicker than I think he realizes.
“He stepped up. He came up big…He went into the lion’s den, into the home of the defending NFC champs, and pushed them to the brink…that’s an A grade for a guy making his fifth NFL start.”
Howell, whether he knew what was at stake or not, responded by completing 29 of 41 passes for 290 yards and a touchdown, a drastic improvement from his Week 3 loss to the Bills, where he was picked off four times. So, The Junkies believe Howell earned himself more security in his starting job.
“Hard to criticize anything,” Bish said. “He was giving the team a chance to win the game…he was the reason they were moving the ball.”
