Michael Phillips of 910 The Fan in Richmond joins The Hoffman Show for his weekly appearance to share his biggest takeaways from the Commanders' 35-33 win over the Denver Broncos. Phillips tells us if his feelings on Washington over the first two games have changed at all from his preseason thoughts. Plus, Phillips and Craig Hoffman discuss the top performers in Sunday’s win, including Chase Young who recorded 1.5 sacks in his 2023 season debut.

And just like the episode of "Seinfeld" when Sue Ellen Mischke got married in India, Hoffman and Phillips start with the end talking about the 50-yard Hail Marry and the controversial no-call on the two-point conversion pass breakup by Benjamin St-Juste.

"I'll say this though," Phillips said of St-Juste, "he played it perfectly, that's exactly what you want. What's the worst-case scenario there? They throw the flag and they do it again. And you know what you're gonna do on the next one? You're gonna mug the guy again. You're gonna do it until they prove they can get a clean look at it. He played it correctly."

But both Hoffman and Phillips know that these types of calls even out – there was one last year that Washington did not get last season at home against the New York Giants.
