There are many topics that will be discussed at the NFL owners meetings later this month, and Dan Snyder is one of them.

Sources told The Associated Press that the Washington Commanders owner’s future has been put on the agenda for discussion at a subcommittee meeting held in Florida ahead of the league’s annual meeting which takes place March 26-29 in Arizona.

And NFL owners voting to oust Snyder if he does not sell the franchise remains a possibility, the same source told The AP. It would take a vote of 24 owners to remove Snyder.

The Washington Post reported on Monday Snyder demanded that the other owners and the NFL indemnify him against any future legal liability if he sells his team, a move which angered some owners and “renewed discussion about the possibility” of taking a vote to remove him.

The Commanders denied the Post’s reporting and said the story “regarding the transaction process involving the Washington Commanders is simply untrue,” in a statement.

It was at a league meeting in Oct. 2022 when Indianapolis Colts owner Jim Irsay first said there was “merit to remove” Snyder. Two weeks later the Commanders announced Snyder had hired Bank of America to “consider possible transactions,” and they said the team was “exploring all options” involving a sale.

Less than six months later, there the sale process does not appear to be going smoothly and there have been continued headlines about Snyder and alleged misconduct, including a report from ESPN on Tuesday detailing alleged financial improprieties and a criminal investigation by federal prosecutors in Virginia.
