Patrick Peterson has eight Pro Bowls on his resume, but at age 34, he’s watching this NFL season from the sideline, still a free agent after being released by the Steelers this past spring following his first and only season in Pittsburgh.
But that’s just for right now – because if the phone rings, Pat Pete is ready to rock.
“I do have aspirations of playing again, so mentally, I’m not shutting it down,” Peterson told Craig Hoffman Thursday. “I haven’t gotten that phone call yet, but I’m still working out and doing the things that I need to do to make sure that if that phone rings, I’m giving them the best that I got.”
The Commanders have some secondary issues, and at 2-1, could be legit…so could we see Peterson spend his 14th NFL season in DC?
“At this stage of my career, I wanna compete for a championship,” he said, “so if Washington is in those conversations and they continue to need help at corner down the line, yeah, my phone line is open.”
