How well did the Washington Commanders do in the 2023 NFL Draft? Well, the reviews are in and they are OK for the performance of head coach Ron Rivera and GM Martin Mayhew. If an A gets you ice cream and a D gets you grounded, the B average seems to have scored the duo a polite pat on the back.

Pro Football Focus' Trevor Sikkema joined The Hoffman Show to talk about how he evaluated the Commanders' draft, the positives and the qualms he had with Rivera's selections over the three days.

On Washington's first-round pick, cornerback Emmanuel Forbes, Sikkema is concerned about his weight, but Forbes' ball skills, recovery speed, length and feistiness all make sense.

And on the Commnaders' second pick, defensive back Jartavius Martin, his ability to line up in multiple different positions in the secondary – both nickel corner and free safety – make him a potential starter for Washington starting next year. (And that's not a slight to Kam Curl, Sikkema said, but that Martin fortifies the Commanders' secondary.)

On the two offensive linemen taken next, Sikkema believes that Ricky Stromberg has the potential to turn into a starter, but Braeden Daniels is more of a project player for Washington, who will need a little bit of time to get acclimated to the NFL game.
