And then there were two. The vacancy signs around the NFL for head coaching positions have all gone out except for those in Washington and Seattle with the Commanders and Seahawks moving on to their last in-person interviews of the latest coaching cycle.
Gregg Bell of the Tacoma News Tribune joined the Kevin Sheehan Show on Tuesday to talk about Seattle's head coach search and how he has been reporting for some time that Dallas Cowboys defensive coordinator Dan Quinn – who many believed the front-runner for that job – isn't a slam dunk to succeed Peter Carroll in the Pacific Northwest and return to the team he once was the defensive coordinator.
Instead, Bell believes that after conducting several in-person interviews with candidates, including Quinn and Raheem Morris, Seattle was waiting for the Ravens' season to end so they could key in on Baltimore's defensive coordinator Mike Macdonald.
Listen to the full conversation on Macdonald, if the Seahawks could shift to an offensive mind and how that impacts the Commanders' head coaching search and likely hiring of Detroit Lions offensive coordinator Ben Johnson on the audio player above.
