"In all honesty, that's probably been the biggest crux of it all, is trying to find that guy," Commanders head coach Ron Rivera said this week when asked if he was surprised about how difficult it has been to find the guy at quarterback for this long in Washington.

"I mean, that's the hardest thing for anybody," Rivera continued. "It doesn't matter whether you're here or that you're at one of the other places that are looking for that. guy. I mean you're fortunate if you get a head coaching job where there's a guy, you better relish that and you better succeed. I'll tell you that right now."

Washington's head coach went on to give a very candid answer about his time here and his predecessor – Jay Gruden – losing Alex Smith to injury in 2018 and how that led to him being brought in after the 2019 season.

Kevin Sheehan – after listening to Rivera's full comment – gave his reaction to the comments Rivera made about the quarterbacks on this year's roster and the issues had at finding that guy. Listen on the audio player above!
