JUNKIES: Are the playoffs now attainable for Commanders?

The Commanders are in first place in the NFC East after Monday’s win over the Bengals, stealing a victory on the road to move to 2-1 on the season.

The win came with an all-time breakout performance from rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels, who completed 21 of 23 passes, threw for two touchdowns, and ran for another, and it has reset expectations in Washington.

“At 2-1, looking at the Cowboys being 1-2, now people should legitimately be thinking that this team has a chance to go to the playoffs,” JP said.

Cakes agrees that the offense looks playoff ready, but the defense could be what holds the team back.

“Jayden is as good or better than I imagined...but that defense is way worse than I thought,” Cakes said. “I don’t know. Joe Whitt, what is he doing? I thought they were geniuses over there?

“I’m sorry I have to bring it up. I think we’re gonna be competitive every week and I don’t think we’ll get blown out again...but our defense is so bad. What is predictable is our terrible defense...and that’s gonna haunt us, so we can’t get too far ahead of our skis.”

Bishop is in agreement, that the Commanders fan could be thinking playoffs after beating the Bengals on the road, but that will only happen if the defense improves.

“It’s gonna be tough to win a division with that defense,” Bishop said.
