The Washington Football Team selected offensive tackle Samuel Cosmi in the second round of the 2021 NFL Draft on Friday.
Cosmi, who stands at 6-foot-6, 314 pounds, was a three-year starter at Texas after red-shirting his freshman year, moving to left tackle as a redshirt sophomore in 2019.
The 51st overall pick, Cosmi earned second-team All-Big 12 honors in 2019. He started eight games in 2020 before opting out of the remainder of the season.
Cosmi's NFL.com draft profile boasts that he has "excellent bend and flexibility" and "looks great in space and moves like a big tight end." It also says he showed improved strength in 2020. NFL.com grades him as a 6.26 — a good backup who could become a starter.
