The Washington Football Team made its second big free agency splash in as many nights on Tuesday, signing former Cincinnati Bengals cornerback William Jackson III.
Jackson is signing a three-year, $42 million deal with Washington, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter, and could be an ideal fit to replace Ronald Darby, who departed for Denver on a three-year, $30 million deal.
The 28-year-old corner recorded 45 total tackles, one interception, 11 passes defended, and made one tackle for loss for the Bengals last season. Cincinnati selected Jackson 24th overall out of Houston in 2016.
Pro Football Focus ranks Jackson as the 16th-best free agent this offseason, giving him a PFF grade of 71.4, which ranks 19th among NFL corners in 2020.
The Jackson signing comes one day after former Washington corner Ronald Darby and the Denver Broncos reached a deal on a three-year, $30 million deal with $19.5 million in guarantees.
