The Washington Football Team believes center Chase Roullier to have suffered a fractured fibula (calf bone) on Sunday against the Broncos.

The news comes by way of Nicki Jhabvala, who also reports that Roullier is still slated to undergo further testing to see if there's any additional damage.

Roullier was injured in the second quarter and had to be carted off the field with an air cast wrapped around his left leg. He was later ruled out for the remainder of the game, with Tyler Larsen replacing him at center.

Washington was already without starters Brandon Scherff and Sam Cosmi, and backup Cornelius Lucas, on Sunday, which thrust second-year pro Saahdiq Charles into action at right tackle. Now it appears Washington's line will have to survive without Roullier for a significant period of time as well.

Roullier, originally a sixth-round pick in 2017, has been the lifeblood of Washington's offensive line since winning the starting job, having only missed two games since the start of the 2018 season. He signed a four-year, $40.5 million contract extension in the offseason that will keep him in Washington through at least the 2024 season.
