Less than a week is the answer to how long former Washington Football Team kicker Dustin Hopkins would be out of work.
Hopkins, who was with Washington for seven seasons, was released by Washington last Wednesday amid an apparent struggle with confidence. He was employed again by Tuesday of the following week.

The Los Angeles Chargers announced Tuesday evening that they had signed Hopkins and released kicker Tristan Vizcaino, who missed his only extra point attempt in last week's loss to Baltimore and hasn't been asked to attempt a field goal since Week 3.
After releasing Hopkins, Washington signed unproven kicker Chris Blewitt off its practice squad after bringing him in for several looks this season. Blewitt kicked in college at Pittsburgh from 2013 to 2016 but had yet to receive an opportunity at the NFL level, until this past Sunday when he made his debut against Green Bay.
Blewitt was 1-for-2 in his Washington debut. His first field goal attempt — from 42 yards early in the second quarter — was blocked by Green Bay. He made his second attempt, a 45-yard field goal, when the game was already out of reach late in the fourth. He also made his only extra point attempt.
For Washington, Hopkins signing with the Chargers means there's no turning back.
