Landon Collins returned to practice Thursday after missing last week's game against the Raiders with a foot injury.
Collins has been a huge contributor to Washington's defense ever since transitioning from a traditional safety role to more of a safety/linebacker hybrid earlier in the season. Washington sure could use him out there Sunday against Dallas, its most important game of the season to this point. It took two players — linebacker Khaleke Hudson and safety Deshazor Everett — to replace him against Las Vegas.

Collins says the injury occurred when the top-middle portion of his foot was stepped on during Washington's Week 12 victory over Seattle. While initially it hurt to put pressure on it, he says it now feels like it's at about 90 percent back to normal. Collins wore special insoles in his cleats for the first time on Thursday.
"Right now it's just getting it comfortable, getting a feel for it, because, like I said, this is my first day putting the insoles in," Collins said after practice. "And just figuring out how to tie my foot, because the bruise still on top of my foot is kind of aggy right now. But on top of that, I'm doing good."
