Those Tua Tagovailoa to Washington rumors died a pretty quick death

The rumors came in fast and left in a hurry.

What started as honest reporting from John McClain of the Houston Chronicle, about how a deal involving quarterback Deshaun Watson could be consummated this week between the Miami and Houston, quickly spun out of control with rumors concerning the future of current Miami QB Tua Tagovailoa.

A flurry of activity from there began connecting Tagovailoa to the Washington Football Team, positing a third team would be required to complete the deal for Watson.

And away Twitter went...

After checking in with their contacts, the local reporters on the WFT beat began weighing in, swiftly shooting down any and all rumors connecting Tagovailoa to Washington.

It was a pretty resounding rejection, with Washington sources calling it B.S., saying Washington has had no involvement in Tua talks and also hasn't been in contact with either Houston or Miami.

The NFL trade deadline is just a hair under two weeks away, set for Tuesday, Nov. 2 at 4 p.m.
