While Ryan Kerrigan's departure from Washington was probably inevitable, that realization does nothing to mitigate the sting of him signing with a division rival.

Indeed, Kerrigan had opportunities elsewhere, with reported interest from the Bengals and Steelers, but instead chose to sign with Philadelphia, where he'll play his former team twice in 2021. Kerrigan is Washington's all-time sack leader and the living embodiment of class.

Neither of those things will change.

But, his uniform will. For Washington faithful, Kerrigan is now playing for the enemy.

And thanks to Kerrigan's own Instagram post, they don't even have to imagine what that will look like on Sundays.

The first time he stretches out for that HBK in an Eagles uniform, a collective groan will undoubtedly be heard around the Beltway.

Elsewhere in NFL media, most seem to recognize that Kerrigan, who will be 33 at the start of the 2021 season, still has plenty of gas left in the tank.
