The Washington Football Team's all-time sack leader could be close to signing with a new team after 10 seasons.
Ryan Kerrigan is scheduled to visit the Cincinnati Bengals on Wednesday, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, who says Washington still has interest in bringing Kerrigan back.
Kerrigan, who lost his starting role in Washington last season, is entering his age 33 season in 2021 and still believes he can be a starter in the league
Kerrigan has been an integral part of Washington's defense since being selected 16th overall in 2011, but after losing playing time, was largely expected to move on at some point this offseason. With many of the league's top free agents already under contract, the timing makes sense for Kerrigan talk to start heating up.
It wouldn't be wise to rule out a potential Kerrigan return to Washington at this point, either. While the 32-year-old wants to start and could draw interest from other teams, it's quite possible he doesn't find the deal or situation he's looking for. At which point reuniting with the devil he knows might make more sense.
