Clinton Yates joined the Hoffman Show to discuss what the loss of the Washington Wizards (and to an extent the Capitals) in Ted Leonsis' proposed move to Potomac Yard in Virginia would have on the soul of Washington D.C., and in particular Black residents of the District.
Part of what Yates argues is tht if a sports franchise talks about community and fostering that, then they should back it up with actions.
"What [Leonsis] has showed is the reveal of such a cultural disconnect," Yates told Craig Hoffman, "that I think the people at the top of Monumental have with the residents of D.C. nevermind the Black folks that are willing to come into the city and stay. in the city and watch those crappy ass teams play." [The last part refers to the Wizards' lack of success on the court.]
