Josh Robbins to Kevin Sheehan: Bucks interested in Bradley Beal, but might not work for Wizards

The idea that Bradley Beal and the Washington Wizards would work together to find a trade (if the new front office wishes to rebuild) was no surprise to Josh Robbins, one of the people who broke the story for The Athletic, as "Beal wouldn't want to be part of a rebuild. He's gonna be 30 in a few days, what's in it for him?"

Robbins joined Kevin Sheehan on Thursday to break down the options ahead of the Wizards and look at the next week for Washington and what Michael Winger and Will Dawkins and the new brain trust at F Street.

Robbins said this is "generally" a good sign that the Wizards new front office is willing to move Beal because it shows they have come to the conclusion that they. need to find a new No. 1 player and they can't acheive that with Beal currently on the roster. "You can't go far without a true No. 1 guy," he told Sheehan, but Beal is driving a lot of this current movement and "the Wizards are ready to move on if they have the right deal in place."

Two impediments to Washington getting a deal to their liking, Beal's massive contract and the no-trade clause mean the "Wizards have diminished leverage," Robbins said. And keeping Beal if they don't get a good deal "isn't in the Wizards' best interest."

So who are the teams: the Miami Heat (for possibly Tyler Herro, or a deal with Duncan Robinson and Kyle Lowry and picks) could be the front-runner, the Milwaukee Bucks (well that part gets more complicated), the Philadelphia 76ers (Tyrese Maxey would likely be off the table, but that could change if James Harden goes to Houston), the Dallas Mavericks could be interested (netting Washington potentially Tim Hardaway Jr. Javale McGee, Davis Bertans and the No. 10 pick), and, of course, the pull of the two Los Angeles teams and, Golden State, too (but assets could be an issue).

Some teams that don't seem likely: the Portland Trail Blazers do not seem to interest Beal and the Boston Celtics wouldn't likely part with Jaylen Brown that would keep them from being a true candidate.
