The Wizards have found their new general manager, reportedly hiring Thunder executive Will Dawkins to replace Tommy Sheppard, who was fired in April.

Dawkins, who has been with Oklahoma City for the last 15 years, will work under Michael Winger as Washington looks to reboot the franchise.

Looking at Dawkins’ track record, The Sports Junkies collectively like the hire, though they believe it could signify a looming all-out rebuild. But, it could lead to a replenished outlook for the future, as the Thunder were able to accomplish this season.

Here were the reactions from The Junks:

“He drafted Steven Adams and 12 and plucked Damontas Sabonis. His track record is pretty good at not top-two or three pick lottery guys.”

“It may be hard for them to do it, but I almost think that that threesome will look to blow it up and start anew like OKC has done…the [Sam] Presti tree has produced a lot of fruit.”

“I like it. On paper, it looks good.”
