Only one undefeated team remains in the AFC after three weeks and it’s not who many would’ve thought.

Tua Tagovailoa has led the Dolphins to their first 3-0 start since 2018. Miami beat the Patriots 20-7 in Week 1, came back from a 21-point deficit in Baltimore in Week 2, and took down the Super Bowl favorites on Sunday.

Tagovailoa is making plays and silencing his critics in the process. He now has wins against Lamar Jackson and Josh Allen in the last two weeks.

Brendan Tobin and Alejandro Solana of the Audacy Original Podcast “The Porpoise Pod” talked about Tagovailoa’s outstanding play and they want the slander to stop now.

“He needed 13 completions to beat the so-called best team in the NFL today, did it with a back that was turned to zig-zag. I never want to hear about Tua’s arm again. I never want to hear it,” Tobin said (3:17 in player above). “That dime that he dropped to Jaylen Waddle in the fourth quarter. Money. To set up a touchdown on third and 22!”

The Dolphins had that third and 22 from their own 48-yard line. They were down by three points early in the fourth quarter. Tagovailoa dropped a dime and the Dolphins were in business.

Miami scored a few plays later to take a lead that they would not relinquish.

“I don’t want to hear about it anymore. I got a 60-yard touchdown. I got a 48-yard touchdown – how many 40-yard-plus plays, 45-yard-plus plays does this dude need to show you that he’s got an NFL arm? Can we put this to bed already and stop with the laziness?” Tobin continued.

Tobin noted that while Allen was “dinking and dunking all over the place,” Tagovailoa was making deeper throws.

“That was the guy that was scared to make big plays today,” he said of Allen. “He was running for his life, which, by the way, he’s very hard to tackle… But you want to know something? Every time he was running for his life it wasn’t like he was hosing it down the field. Oh no, it was ‘Singletary, save me!’ little check down. That’s all he was doing the entire game, dude.

“Tua? Man’s throws. Big-time throws. He had two drives that mattered, OK? He had the one drive where it was like first down, first down, first down, first down, Cracraft, and then it was like bomb to Jaylen Waddle. Third and 22? That’s over in Dolphins land before this season. No shot. And now, doesn’t matter. He’s a chunk player, dude.”
