It's spring! Spring officially began at 11:49pm last night--- that's the earliest spring (in the United States) in 124 years! On the day of the spring equinox, people think the day and night are of equal lengths--- but here in Baltimore, that's not exactly true---based on our latitude, there is still a bit more day than night, which is a good thing, right?
Why is spring a slight bit earlier this year? It's a long story-- and it has to do with our having had a leap year, not in 2020, but back in 2000. If you are into astronomy, it's an interesting situation, and one you probably already know and understand.
But for everyone else--we're just happy it's finally here. So try to make the most of it--- get outside a bit-- and enjoy what will be an amazing Friday (the first full day of spring)!
