This week’s episode of Spotlight On Maryland features the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra, their OrchKids program, and their full calendar of events! We spoke with OrchKids Senior Director Nick Skinner and BSO Senior Vice President and Chief Advancement Officer Allison Burr-Livingstone from the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra.
OrchKids is an amazing program that provides during and after school music programs designed to create social change and nurture promising futures for youth in Baltimore. OrchKids works with nine schools in Baltimore, serving more than 1,900 children from pre-k through high school. You can learn more at OrchKids.org and help keep the music alive here.

The BSO is back on the road! The Music for Maryland tour begins on July 9th in Garrett County and will visit six counties this summer. Visit their full calendar to see when the BSO will be in your county! Coming up on June 1st, Symphony in the City is back at the Patterson Park Observatory. Led by Assistant Conductor Jonathan Rush, this show will include classical favorites paired with pop music specially arranged for Wordsmith to perform with the BSO. This is one on many free concerts and it’s a great experience for the entire family!
