Kelsea Ballerini replied to a young fan’s letter on her Instagram account. It seems the 12-year-old girl named Ellie had been bullied in middle school. In the hand written letter that Ballerini posted on Instagram, Ellie said middle school has "been really hard on me and my friend."
"I wanted to write to you because listening to your songs has changed my world," she added, thanking Kelsea for "having a voice that helps mend my troubles." She states that the song "Homecoming Queen" reads her mind. Ellie tells Kelsea "I've been feeling really sad because people have said some nasty things that I try not to acknowledge. Sometimes it feels like the world will end if i start showing what's under my skin. However, your songs have taught me otherwise."
Kelsea reminds the young tweenager that Middle school was really hard for her too. "It’s a time when everyone is starting to discover who they are, it’s awkward and emotional, and unfortunately the way some people feel like they have it together is by tearing other people apart." She encouraged Ellie to try her best to breathe through it and let it roll off you, adding "it's not your weight to carry." reminding her that "Middle school will be over before you know it."
You can probably bet that young Ellie will be a Kelsea Ballerini fan forever. As will we.
